Alumni Spotlight: Matt Arbo

Check out this week's edition of Alumni Spotlight, where we catch up with previous interns and staff to see what they've been up to.  This week we talk with adventurer and creator of EpicUncertainty.com, Matt Arbo.  Matt interned with Go for two years and graduated the program in 2011.  Matt is always an inspiration to us and we thought he might just inspire you too!

Tell us about what your life looks like right now? My life looks like a map with lines going all over the place and little pins marking all the locations I end up in.

Where was your last international adventure? My last International Adventure was technically Canada but that was only for a few days. Although they were beautiful days! Before that I was in New Zealand for a bit.

Tell us about what you did there? Since Canada was so short I'm going to stick with NZ description on this one. I was walking an 1800 mile trail from the top of NZ to the bottom of NZ. It took me about 4.5 months to complete.

What was the most challenging part of your adventure? The deep bush walking days! Mud up to your knees, roots tripping you on every turn, slipping and sliding down the path and making sure you got the 15-20 miles in for the day.

What was the most impacting moment of your trip? I think the most impacting moment was my experience with Ken a tattoo artist who we met and became good friends with. He ended up impacting me more than I think I did him and he told me I had given him his passion for life back so I'd say that's pretty big.

What’s the one thing you wish you had brought with you on the trip? More things to give to the wonderful people who helped us out along the way. Something American and something for them to remember us by.

How did you raise the money for your trip? I did raised a lot of the money by working but I also wrote letters and emails to different companies to gain corporate sponsorships so we saved about 3 to 4 grand with the help of our sponsors.

What advice would you give to someone who is wanting to take a step towards their dreams? Prepare your self ahead of time mentally to have sucky times. When you know ahead of time, that at times things will be hard and it wont be easy then when tough times do come you are ready to hold your ground and keep moving forward.  The other thing I would say is just do it!!! There are people who talk about living their dreams and there are people who live them!  Decide which one you will be. If you truly want to do something you will find a way to make it happen. The Wright brothers had a dream to build a flying machine. No one had ever flown before, it was impossible but they were not only dreamers they were doers. They found a way to make it possible and created history.

What countries have you visited? Probably more than I can remember. I'm not bragging about how many places I've been that's how bad my memory is haha. Lets see, Mexico, Honduras, Panama, El Salvador, Grenada, Cayman, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, US and British Virgin Islands, Canada, England, Philippines, South Korea, Cambodia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

What do you love most about traveling? The People and the Geography.

Do you have a favorite country?  If so, what is it that you like about it? Ahh such a hard a choice! I think if I answered this question truthfully it would have to be America. Honestly, I mean all the places I have been were amazing and I will definitely go back and in some of those places I could see myself living for a time. But America is in my blood. Its my native land and I think I will always love her Mountains and Oceans and Lakes and Prairies.

Do you have a current project or adventure on the horizon? If so what is it? I definitely do!  I am always dreaming about an adventure. I think Mongolia Is going to be my next big adventure. I'm planning to ride a horse from the eastern border to the western border.

What’s the most important life lesson you’ve learned since leaving Go? That it is more blessed to give than to receive. I have been so blessed, so anytime I have the ability to help others I do.

Where do you find your inspiration? My Heart.

#go_inspiration: One Life

You are here on planet earth for a reason. You could have been born in any other time of history- yet you are here now. You have been gifted with talents, dreams and desires; not by accident, but with a purpose. You only get one life, this is not a dress rehearsal, there are no do overs, you only get to live each moment once. What matters at the end of the day is what you did with it.

Today Go International is happy to launch a new web based campaign called "go_inspiration".  The concept of this campaign is to inspire people through the use of art.   At the beginning of each week we are going to have a featured artist who will create a lead inspirational piece (photography, design, typography, drawing/sketch, etc.) that will correspond with a theme. Throughout the rest of the week we invite others to join in the campaign and show us their creative interpretation of the topic.

People will load images to IG and hashtag them #go_inspiration. On Sunday at 5pm EST the week's featured artist will choose their favorite design and that design will go live on our website with a corresponding article the following Monday.  At the end of the year we will compile all the artists work into an inspirational book called #go_inspiration.  It’s always been a passion of ours to give artists a platform by which to share their faith.  We believe God’s beauty and nature can be displayed through artistic expression.

JOIN US: To enter follow @go_international on IG and load your image with the hashtag #go_inspiration.   On Sunday, the featured artist will select their favorite design from the feed and that design will go live on our website with a corresponding article the following Monday.  To be selected as a winner you must follow @go_international  and use only original art and photos.  We look forward to seeing your posts!

The first featured artist helping us kick off the campaign is @justinkila with his interpretation of  “One Life”.

Q & A @go_international:  Tell us about your design. @justinkila:  This design features @dodgepangburn.  It's a split image of dodge portraying life on one side, death on the other, something we all must face, and inch closer to every minute of the day.

@go_international:  What does "one life" mean to you? @justinkila:  The fact that no one escapes death should put a perspective on your life. It should put a sense of urgency to do the most you can with what you have, wherever you are.  The only thing that stays behind when you die is your legacy, and how you affected the people in your life.

@go_international:  What programs were used to create this? @justinkila:  This was all done in photoshop.

@go_international:  Where do you find your inspiration? @justinkila:  Inspiration comes in so many different forms.  I think one of the biggest causes for a creative block is thinking that there are only certain places to find inspiration.  It's not just blogs or art exhibits or books.  I usually get inspired by other people, whether they're an artist or not.  Everyone has something to contribute to the world in a unique and specific way that no one else can.  The more you open your mind for more sources of inspiration, chances are you'll end up inspiring others.

Go Snapshot: This Week at Go - Nov 2nd

11_02_2012_go_eblast_top

After our arrival here in Ecuador, three weeks ago, we are finally settled in and Go International is off and running.  We have moved into a little 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment that’s just right for our family.  We also enrolled Zion in a bilingual preschool and he is LOVING it!  The first phase of launching our base here is, Community Integration and Needs Assessment.

During this phase we are strategically establishing relationships with leaders of the community in an effort to assess the needs and see where we can be involved.  It’s been awesome to see the doors that have opened in such a short amount of time.  From pastor’s to business leaders and even connections with government officials we have made great contacts in the past week.

goinspiration_justin_kila

In addition to the work we will be doing here in Ecuador we also plan to continue our web based initiatives as well.  Next week we plan on launching a new campaign called #goinspirations, which will be a weekly inspirational article with accompanying artwork from the many creative artists on Instagram. We are excited about this new artistic campaign.  The first featured artist is Justin Kila.  Follow him on Instagram @justinkila.

pastor_daniel

On Tuesday we spent several hours meeting with a pastor of a relatively new church plant.  We definitely share the same heart and are excited to see how we can work together.  He expressed a desire to help Go International in any way he can and he also invited us to speak next Thursday at a Bible study he leads.

one_heart

On Wednesday night we were invited to share at One Heart a local college ministry.  We spoke on the importance of Dreaming and next week we will share part 2 on How to Walk Out Your Dreams.

Safe Arrival in Quito, Ecuador!

Go Friends,

Hello from Ecuador!  After many months of planning and preparation our family has arrived safely here in South America.  We couldn’t be any more excited about the season we find ourselves in.  We are so thankful to the many of you who have partnered with us in this new chapter of Go.

We arrived in Quito a week ago today and have been busy getting established since then.  You may or may not know that we opted not to do a “pre-trip” for this move, we decided instead to treat our first month in country as the “pre-trip” and just figure out where we’d be once we got here.  Originally we thought we may live in a smaller village closer to some of the indigenous people groups but in the course of our planning some of the people we knew in the area moved away and we feel it is important for us as a family to be near a community of people we trust for the sake of Zion.  So we have decided to base in Quito where we have taken Go Teams before and as a result have many friends.  Basing in Quito will allow us to minister not only to those in the city but to travel out to various villages on a regular basis.

Last week we spent much of our time searching for an apartment to live in which will also serve as our offices for the time being.  We looked at many different places and are pleased to announce that we have found our South American home!  It’s a great little 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, in a safe neighborhood, and even has a little place for Z to play out back!

Our first goal in this initial phase of establishing our base is: Community Integration and Needs Assessment.  During this initial phase we will be establishing relationships in the local community, serving and volunteering, and assessing the needs that we feel we are to be involved in.  We felt strongly in our hearts prior to coming, not to presume to know the needs.  We are here to serve the people and see what doors God opens for us to make Him known.

We’ve been staying at a little cottage for international people immigrating to Ecuador, and in the midst of apartment hunting this week we have had the opportunity to make some great relationships that we feel were not by accident.  We had the pleasure of taking one young couple, Jeremy and Jennifer here on their first mission trip, on a tour of the city and we were able to share our mission stories and encourage them in the season they are in.  We also met a great couple who are now retired and living in Cuenca, Ecuador and in addition to being fellow ministers she is a respiratory therapist and has helped me tremendously in combating some asthma related issues I had upon arrival.  So thankful for the way God coordinates things!

Tomorrow we plan to move in to our apartment and our offices will then be up and running!

We encourage those of you who find yourself in a similar season of charting new courses, to have faith, trust Him, and…enjoy the journey. J

Greg, Christa and Zion Baca

Ecuador: Home Stretch

We are almost there!  Help us launch the Go International.tv South American Base by joining the Operational Support Team.  Be one of 21 people to join the team in the next 21 days and the team will be complete!

Since we first announced our plan to move to Ecuador and launch a mission base last April so much has been accomplished.  We liquidated the majority of Go International’s office equipment, leased our home, sold a large portion of our possessions, and have had many people step up and join the Operational Support Team to help us launch the base.  We are now right at 3 weeks away from our arrival in Ecuador!

We are very excited about this new season we are about to step into!  Of course it is full of many questions (as can be expected when moving overseas) but we are confident that this is the right step for us and Go International.tv.  Over the years we have had much success experimenting with various outreaches to engage people in conversations about faith and we look forward to experimenting with how best to engage with a foreign culture on a daily basis and point people to Jesus.

When we first launched Go Internship and Go Missions, we  also faced many questions and unknowns, but as we took daily steps of obedience we charted our way and we are confident we will do the same in launching this base.

Since the beginning of Go International.tv, it has always been bigger than Greg & Christa Baca.  We have always seen ourselves as fellow journeyers with partners, staff, interns, and friends seeking to proclaim the name of Jesus and shine His light in the dark.  The same is true today, this move is not about the Baca’s and can only happen with a team of people joined together to see the Gospel shared throughout South America.  Will you consider joining with us to launch the South American Base by committing to partner with us on a monthly basis for a term of one year?  There are 21 spots that remain on the Operational Support Team before funding is complete.  Many of the spots are available at just over $1 a day.  Thank you for your help in charting out this new season for Go International.tv.

Journeying Together,

Greg & Christa Baca

Below is a chart that represents our total funding to date.  Choose which spot you would like on the team by clicking the banner below:

Dreams Take Flight

Go Friends, I'm writing to you from about 20,000 feet in the air. Christa, Zion, and I just spent a week with her family to attend our brother Sean's wedding.  It was great to spend time with the family before we make our move overseas.

There has been much progress made since we first announced our big move. We have leased our house with a one year contract, liquidated most of our office furniture/equipment, sold much of our household items, and made a huge dent in our funding campaign!  In addition to this we concluded a year long contract we had working with a local church, Sanctuary.

All this, to say we have systematically been uprooting our lives as we prepare to establish new roots in a new country. It has been quite the process to sort through all the stuff we've acquired over the years. Perhaps the most difficult thing has been emptying our Go storage unit and sorting through the remnants of all the various campaigns, events, and trips we've been involved in over the years.   To anyone else it would seem like an old brochure on the ground but to us we remember the first meeting we had with our staff deciding where we should go, and what the trip should be named, and what kind of design we were going for. Every item we saw had a story attached to it and cumulatively our warehouse of "stuff" represented thousands and thousands of man hours put in by our amazing team!  In the end that is truly what the hard part of this move is, leaving behind so many great people who have made Go what it is. I came to Tulsa 13 years ago knowing only one person and I leave having established so many incredible relationships I will take with me the rest of my life.

We feel somewhat like Abraham in this move.

In the same way God instructed Abraham to lay down his dream of being a father to many nations by sacrificing his son Isaac, we feel that God is asking us to lay down a dream he had given us many years ago by ending our internship program. We feel a new dream being birthed and while we are excited about what lay ahead, there is temptation to hold on to the past.  We know however that our future is not in the past so we forge ahead into this new season!

There are a few lessons that I've been reminded of in this process that I will pass on to you.

• Be fully present and engaged in your current season for you never know when you will transition into another

• "Things" are just "things". It is the people in your life that are of true value.

• A God given dream must never become bigger than the God who gave you the dream.

• "What" you do is not nearly as important as "how" you do it or "who" you are.

• Life is not static, it's dynamic. Don't miss today's opportunity by holding on to yesterday's.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We will spend the next few weeks visiting family and completing our funding for the year. We fly to Ecuador oct 8!

If you would like to join the Go International Operation support team you can do so for just about $1 a day. Click here to help us launch the South American mission base.

God bless you all

Greg, christa & Zion

After creating a variety of innovative campaigns...

Over the years we have sought to challenge ourselves with innovative ways to proclaim the Gospel message to the world.  It has been a blast experimenting with new methods of engaging in conversations about faith with various cultures around the world.  Whatever our method, the goal has always remained to point people towards Christ.  Below are just a few of the outreaches and campaigns we’ve developed over the years.

Night of Refuge: It was on the Mystery Trip in Bangkok, Thailand when we first conceived of the Night of Refuge.  While there, we were told that there were over 10,000 sex workers in a square mile radius.  Many of these girls were not there by choice but had been sold into the brothels of the city by their families in outlying rural areas.  When you first hear news like this it is shocking and somewhat paralyzing.  Where do you begin?  How can you possibly make a difference?  As a team we talked it over and decided that while we may not be able to reach all of these girls, we could reach some of them, so we purposed to do whatever we could.

After several hours of brainstorming we came up with Night of Refuge.  The concept was simple.  We thought, “These girls are being purchased by who knows what kind of men every night, and being used and abused.  What if we could purchase them for the night to introduce them to a man named Jesus that could take their guilt, shame, and burdens from them?"  This was not to be a “church service” but rather a party.  We rented out a banquet hall and had food catered in.  We then ordered flowers for each of the girls and planned a night full of games and fun which would conclude with us sharing the Gospel with them.

This first Night of Refuge went better than we could have possibly imagined.  We were able to pay for 31 girls to participate in the banquet and 17 of them made a decision to follow Christ that night.  We worked with a local ministry that provided a safe home, and vocational training for women who were seeking to get out of the lifestyle they were in.  For one sweet girl we were her very first "client" and she made a decision that night not to return to her new profession.

This last summer we held our 2nd Night of Refuge while in Cambodia.  This event was even bigger than the first as we rented out a party boat and had over 100 women join us for the night.  Check out the pictures of our Cambodia Night of Refuge above.

Dream Campaign We created the Dream Campaign in 2009 for our annual Mystery Mission Trip. Knowing that traditional “drama in the streets” would not work; we began looking for a non-cliche way in which to provide ministry outlets for our upcoming trip to Europe. It was from this that the dream campaign was born. Since it’s inception, the Dream Campaign has taken place in Rome, Paris, London, Panama, Haiti, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia and the United States.

The Campaign is simple; simply go somewhere where there is a lot of people and ask them to take part in an art campaign and write down their dream, then take a photo of them holding their dream. On the back of the “Dream Sheet” is a short inspiring message which encourages people to live their dreams and has a short prayer that they can pray to begin to get to know the one who gave them their dream.

World Wide Canvas

As a global civilization, we are faced with many staggering problems and escalating uncertainties. With the threat of war, racisim and economic challenges; it's easy to find reasons to be divided. It is with this in mind that we have created The World Wide Canvas Project.  The World Wide Canvas Project is a global art project that will span the globe.  Renowned artists will travel to various nations to paint a larger-than-life mural depicting the love of God.  Our first canvas was installed in June, 2009 in collaboration with live4this art studio in Panama City, Panama. Future World Wide Canvas projects will continue this global mural in other nations around the world.  The result: an international canvas project, when pieced together, will depict a powerful message of love, unity, and hope. Our hope is that through each installment of the mural, this project will join nations across the globe using a medium that touches the entire human race; the love and appreciation of art.  Check out some highlights from our inaugural canvas in Panama:

Orphan for a Night

Orphan for a Night is an event that was birthed out of the desire to bring change to the realities of global orphans. During our travels, we saw a need and felt as if it was our duty as believers to fill it.

OFN, a thought provoking event, calls individuals to leave the comfort and warmth of their homes to spend a night in the elements and share in the reality that the most destitute of orphans face each day: homelessness.

Groups gather together with a goal of raising $3,000 to build an orphanage that will house ten orphans who are in need of a home. Each person who pledges to be part of the night raises funds to participate in the event.  We have held Orphan for a Night's in several states across the country.

You won't believe what's next...

It has been our great joy to be part of reaching so many people though these creative campaigns.  Always what is so impacting for us, is seeing how these campaigns effect not only the lives of the people we minister to but our own lives as well.  There are many faces and stories of people around the world who will forever be engrained on our hearts.

There are many new ideas stirring in our hearts for this next season of Go and we CAN'T WAIT to share them with you! But, we will have to wait until Friday, April 27th at 9:00pm CST for that!  If you want to be the first to know what's next for Go International be sure to  subscribe to the Go E Newsletter by clicking on the banner below.

There’s still a whole lot of ideas to come,

Greg and Christa

After More Than 20 Different Trips...

After marrying in the spring of 2003, doing missions work as a vocation was never a question in the minds of Christa and I, it was after all, our passion.  As young single people we had already ministered in a combined eleven different nations, in fact, it was while leading a trip to Ecuador together that we first became friends.

I'll never forget Go International’s very first mission trip, which was to the nation of Peru.  I was a young, newly married, 22-year-old man with big vision, a dream in my heart, and absolutely no idea how to actually do it!  So naturally, we just ran at it as if we had done it 100 times before.

We knew that to pull off our first trip it would take a lot of focus, sacrifice, and dedication.  We promptly resigned from our 8-5 jobs at another ministry and took on night jobs so that we could have the business day to do Go.  I worked as a server at a local restaurant, and Christa managed a small graphic design company out of our house.  Money was tight but we were launching our dream.  I remember being so proud of our little office which consisted of a cheap desk (purchased with a Target gift card from our wedding), a donated fax machine, and over time we finally saved enough to get a bookshelf.  Yeah, we were pretty big time. ;)

That fall we took a pre trip that would proceed the summer team trip.  As I said, we didn’t know exactly “how” to do what we felt in our heart we just knew we “must” do it.  Lucky for us, God’s grace was on us as we took steps of action.  I remember we traveled to four Peruvian cities in just eight days, scouting out which city we would return to with the team.  A few of these cities we didn’t even know one person in, and as destiny would have it, that was exactly the case for the city we chose.

As the plane touched down in Cusco, Peru an expectancy filled our hearts.  We sensed there was something special about this place.  Armed with a folded piece of paper, containing the scribbled name and number of local pastor Willy Mont, which was handed to me by a friend as we boarded the plane from Lima, we set out to plan our very first trip.

Upon checking into our hotel room I removed the piece of paper from my pocket and dialed the number of Pastor Willy.  “Here goes nothing”, I thought, as the phone rang.  Pastor Willy answered, and I introduced myself to him and asked if we could take he and his wife to dinner that night.  Shockingly he said “Yes.”!  We walked into this little restaurant and I remember thinking, “He’s going to think we are little kids, he’ll never work with us.”.  But after spending several hours talking, dreaming, and shedding a few tears over dinner we were all convinced that this encounter was of God.  Prior to our meeting, Christa and I had felt that when we returned in the summer we would like to do; an evangelistic campaign, a youth concert, and a children’s festival.  To our surprise, Pastor Willy and his wife Jessica, had been praying that a team would come to Cusco to do these exact things, in order to help them launch their newly founded church.  This was confirmation that we were on the right track.

The next day we traveled to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to see if it would serve as a good free day for the team.  While waiting in line to enter we struck up a conversation with a really nice man.  He eventually asked us where we were from, and we of course responded “Tulsa.”.  “Tulsa?” he exclaimed!  “I used to live there while I was a student at ORU.  What are you guys doing in Peru?”.  We told him about Go and how we planned to return with a team that summer.  “That’s interesting” he said.  “I am a Pastor in Pennsylvania and I have been looking for a team to send my church with to Peru this summer”.  Once again as destiny would have it, this ten minute conversation indeed led to Pastor Craig Nanna bringing his team with us that summer.  If only all of our “marketing campaigns” had been that easy!  Once again we saw this as God’s grace not only on this trip but on the very existence of Go.

It turns out that these confirmations would prove to be critical in our journey in the months that followed.  The task of paying for all of the outreaches we had planned was challenging, especially on the budget of a server, and just a handful of partners (mainly our families).  As contract deadlines approached for deposits for the band, stadium, and other necessary expenses, there came a day where we simply had no more money personally.  We had sent all we had.

Unfortunately this led to one very cold winter night.  That’s right, our electricity was shut off because we just didn’t have the money to pay it.  (Now to all of those who are thinking, “That wasn’t very responsible you should have paid your bills first”. You are probably right but none the less, that’s not how the story went.)  I remember throwing extra blankets on our bed and cuddling Christa in the dark, and through the silence I begin to hear Christa choking back the tears.  “Shouldn’t it be easier than this?” we asked.  But it was in that moment that something powerful happened that would set the course for how we lived our lives and operated Go in the years that followed.

I remember asking Christa, “If you were a Peruvian woman who was sleeping in the cold with her family tonight, alone, desperate, and without hope, wouldn’t you pray that someone would spend a night in the cold for you to have a chance to hear the Good News of Christ?”  We committed from that moment on that we would pay the price to proclaim the Gospel to the nations of the word.  That summer as our first team converged on the city of Cusco, and was saw the lives that were changed through the campaign, concert and children's festival, we knew that all our sacrifices had paid off.

Now nine years into Go, we have led teams on more than 20 different trips, and traveled to almost every continent sharing the redemptive message of Christ.  We’ve learned a thing or two since our early days but we have realized no matter how much we grow, or how talented we become, nothing replaces the grace of God.

We are honored and humbled to have the opportunity and privilege of demonstrating God’s love to the world.  We are so thankful for every single person that has linked arms with us along the way.  The price and sacrifices you have made are not in vain.

To all of you who are starting out on a new journey and have a dream in your heart, don’t quit.  The world needs what you have and who you are.  Work hard, trust God, rest in his grace, and never forget to enjoy the journey.

God Bless,

Greg & Christa

After Creating the Mystery Trip...

I still remember the fall day that Christa and I were huddled around a table at Panera Bread talking with our first two Go Apprentices, Lauren Morris and Regan Saunders.  We spoke about how cool it would be to organize a multi-country mission trip where participants had no idea where they were going and would discover their destinations by following clues and completing challenges.  It sounded like something right out of a reality TV show; an Amazing Race meets world missions adventure.  We laughed and joked and imagined all of the cool things you could do on a trip like that.

Suddenly, my day dream was interrupted by two very excited Apprentices saying, “Can we do it?”.

Woah, I was just imagining how cool it would be; not actually considering doing it.

I thought, “Well, why not?”.  That was the conversation that started the ball rolling on what would become one of the central pieces of the Go Internship and open doors to some of the most impacting ministry I’ve ever been a part of.

What I love about how this began, is it is so reflective of daily life at Go;  everybody putting their two cents in, dreaming together, then as a team running at a goal.  I think the general public would be shocked at the level of influence the Interns have had at Go.

There have now been four Mystery Trips that have taken teams to a total of eight different nations.

  1. Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Manila
  2. London, Paris, Rome
  3. Cambodia, Thailand
  4. Johannesburg and Cape Town South Africa

Now, a lot of people ask, “Why make it a mystery?”  So here are a few reasons why we believe in the Mystery Trip:

  • Why not?  This may seem sarcastic but literally, why not?  If we were going to be planning an exclusive Go Intern mission trip anyways, and doing all the work that goes with coordinating international ministry, travel schedules, etc... why not work a little harder and provide a once in a lifetime experience for these interns who were investing a year of their life to receive training and serve the world?
  • Traveling to multiple nations within one trip allows the interns to come face-to-face with multiple cultures in a short amount of time, allowing them to see that people face many of the same challenges and share many of the same basic human needs regardless of culture.  We would literally be in the trendy streets of Hong Kong having conversations with college students one day, and a few days later be in a Thai village playing with children.
  • Our goal from the beginning of Internship was to train up leaders that had a heart for the world.  We realized early on that this was easier said than done.  With the Mystery Trip we sought to make a mission trip more appealing for first time missionaries by offering some adventure with it.  This was strategic because we understood that regardless of what the motives for participating on this trip were, that every student would return home changed.  As TL Osborn once famously stated, “Look into the faces of another people and you will never be the same”.
  • Another unforeseen advantage of the Mystery Trip is that it became the “outreach lab” of Go.  Since we were traveling with such a creative group of people and we all knew each other so well it allowed us to test and experiment some new ministry concepts that proved to be transformative.  It was on the Mystery Trip that the following outreaches were birthed; Dream Campaign, Message in a Bottle, Love from Above, Night of Refuge, Go on your Own, Light the Night, and more.  All of these were successful campaigns that sought to move us from simply performing dramas in the streets to engaging in intentional conversations of faith.

The reasons listed above are just a few of the reasons why we believe in the Mystery Trip.

After 9 Years of Ministry...

It is hard to believe that in just a few weeks Go International.tv will celebrate our 9th year of ministry.  It has been quite the journey, filled with triumphs, trials, innovations, adventure and friendships that will last a lifetime.  It has been so amazing to watch “Go International” morph from being simply a line in the journal entry of a young Bible school student into an international organization that has worked in more than 20 nations of the world.

Over the years, there have been hundreds of people that have participated on international outreaches with Go, and countless lives have been affected.  The thing that has been true about Go from day one, is that it has never been (and will never be) about Greg & Christa Baca, it has from its inception been a collaborative experiment to see just what could happen if a group of creative, committed, loving people united together to touch the world.  We stand in awe of the people God has brought across our path that have contributed, shaped, and influenced what Go is today and will continue to be in the future.

To all of the supporters, missionary alumni, internship alumni, parents, ministry partners, and friends of Go we say thank you.  Go International would still be only a line in the journal had you not invested your time, money, energy, and talents to see a dream become a reality.

There have been many phases in the evolution of Go, including the launching of; Go Missions, Go Internship, Go Apprenticeship, and Go Causes.  Today we find ourselves once again forging into another phase which has yet to be charted.

In January, we began to sense transition was on the horizon yet again.  We took some time to pull back and assess what exactly it was that we were feeling in our hearts. We considered many things, even relocating our headquarters to California, but upon further reflection we realized God has something else in store.

We are very excited about what we feel in our hearts regarding this next season...you won’t believe what’s next!  Over the next few days we will take a look back and celebrate some of the high points and successes of the previous phases we’ve walked through together, and on Friday the 27th of April we will reveal just exactly what this next step is.  Check back daily to catch a glimpse of where we’ve been.

We invite you to donate a status or 2 to help spread the word about what’s next!

God Bless and Stay Tuned,

Greg & Christa

Night of Refuge

Right now - Imagine:

You are a 25 year old woman. Once upon a time, you thought you found true love. A foreigner came and promised you a grand life. And for a moment in time, life was everything he promised. You had a child together, but without notice his bags were packed and he was gone. Desperate to provide for your young child, you go to a bigger city to try and find work. On your quest for a job that will provide, you meet a man who offers you a job as a waitress in his resteraunt. You arrive at your first day of work, believing that this was the answer you were searching for, this is the golden opportunity to make a living for you and your child. Upon your arrival, your boss asks you to go serve a customer. With a nervous feeling in your stomach, you go to attend the customer in the back room, however, within moments you realize this job was not what you thought it was. As the man moves towards you, he begins to force himself on you. Filled with fear, you run out of the room in hopes to be saved. However, instead of finding refuge, your boss yells at you demanding you go back into the room to serve the customer, or else you'll be fired. Convinced there are no other options for work, you stay working at the restraunt where every night men come in, expect you to serve them, and for a small chump of change they can purchase you for the night, allowing them to have their way with you. This is your life.

A little inhumane, wouldn't you say? This scenario isn't just a scenario, its the story of 50 women on a 136th street in Phnom Phen, Cambodia. These women are desperate for someone to rescue them. They are desperate for someone to love them for who they are. These women are desperate for a night of refuge.

Friday night the Go Team moved with purpose as they went into the Red Light District of Phnom Phen, determined to give 50 women a night of refuge. Determined to be a light in an industry that is full of darkness and to create change in the lives of women who have lost all hope. 9 o'clock on the dot, the team showed up at the beginning of 136th street, with their hearts beating fast for what was about to happen, they dispersed throughout the street fearlessly. The street that was previously filled with men wandering the streets lusting at women, was now overtaken by a team of people who were radiating the love of God. As the team went into the bars where the women were, the men sitting at the bar were left utterly confused as the women who had seconds before draped themselves around the men's necks left them as soon as the women heard they were invited to a party by the Go team. Bar after bar, the Go Team invited these ladies to an extravagant party, leaving the men sitting alone at the bar with no women to service them for the night. Although the men's plans had been completely ruined, the women left with excitement, they knew that this was not going to be an ordinary Friday night, this night was special.

These women knew that there was something different about the Go team as they watched members of the team whole heartitly "fight" for one of the women. After hearing about the party, a precious young girl left the man she was with so that she could attend the party, yet, shocked and upset the man threatened her placing fear in her. Members of the Go Team pleaded with her not to stay with him, with passion in their voices they told her "He doesn't own you, you don't have to stay with him. You are valuable. Come with us". This was the first time for many of the girls that they had seen someone fight on their behalf, telling them that they were valuable. Tonight, would not be just a regular night with the normal clients, and the women were fully aware of it.

After inviting fifty women from the Red Light District to an evening party on the river, the Go team headed to the boat they had rented for the night in order to host this life changing event. As the team and the women walked down the street, the women moved proudly down the busy street with an excitement radiating from them, they had just been invited to what seemed like a party of a lifetime by a group of Americans. They where hand picked and selected for the party, and their genuine smiles were showing it.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as you could hear squeals from the women as they saw the boat they were about to get on for the party. Little did they know that they were about to have one of the best nights of their lives. Anticipation built amongst the group of 80 as they waited to load the boat, their cheers grew louder as the rest of the groups arrived at the dock. The time had finally come. Christa Baca, co-founder of Go International, welcomed the women to the party as the gates opened. As the men helped the ladies board the boat, the women were were left in awe as they saw rose petals flooding the lower deck of the boat. Making their way to the top deck of the boat, some of the women's eyes welled up with tears as they saw the details of the decor that was done all for them.

As the women took in their surroundings, the Go men stepped up to the plate and began their side of the ministry: serving these girls. The women took their seats, and within the blink of an eye, the men from the Go team were bringing the women drinks and desserts. The men were setting a new standard for these women on how man ought to treat woman. These women have never been treated with such respect. It was a beatiful sight to see the men rush back and forth with smiles on their faces serving the women from the bars. Their faces lit up as they came to the realization that these men did not want anything from them. Tonight, they were not being asked to service customers. Tonight, they were going to find a place of refuge. Tonight, they were going to be treated like queens.

The music turned on and in a matter of moments- all the ladies from the Go team and the women from the bars intermingled and began dancing the top deck of the boat. As popular tunes from Justin Beiber and Miley Cyrus came over the speakers, everyone cheered with excitement as they danced and sang their hearts out. The girls were loosening up and beginning to taste freedom. On a boat that was drifting down the Mekong River, these girl were given the opportunity to be themselves and rest from their nightly routine. At various points during the party one could see girls taking in the moment as they stood at the edge of the boat catching the river's breeze and looking at the city lights. Tonight, was unlike any other, it was better than the movies.

After dancing the night away, the time had finally come to let the girls know why we were having a party in their honor. As everyone sat down in their seats, Christ Baca took the stage voicing the fact that tonight was different, tonight was a night to give these girls a safe place. A place of refuge from their nightly routine and customers. Smiles appeared on the faces of the girls as you could hear a few of them saying "Yes, Yes. This is true." One could see the Cambodian women connecting with the Go team as they squeezed their hands and smiled as a gesture of "Thank You". Christa continued speaking to the girls as she shared part of her story with them, letting them know that we are all the same, despite our backgrounds. As Christa continued speaking to the Cambodian women, she saturated them with truth; letting them know that they are special and created in the image of God for a purpose.

The hearts of the girl's were softening as they were realizing more than ever that the Go team was here to love them as they just as they were. After sharing the vision of the night, the team performed a drama for the women called "Bondage". The drama illustrated a girl who was wrapped in chains and held in bondage by the devil. The devil brought her through bad relationships, greed and money issues, hurt, pain, rejection, and alcohol abuse. Yet the whole time, Jesus was reaching out the the girl in bondage, trying to save her. As the women watched the drama one could see tears streaming down their faces, they were connecting to the girl in the drama. After all, they were in bondage, trying to break free. At the end of the drama, Christ saved the girl who was in bondage, freeing her from the chains that bound her. One could see it on their faces, that these girls were longing to be rescued.

The women were finally understanding the purpose of the party. Their deameanor competely changed as they let down the walls and were exposing how they truly felt. Their whole lives no one has ever cared about them or showed them love. No one has told them how valuable they are or how they have purpose. As Christa got up one last time to speak, she poured out her heart to the girls telling them that all of us women are the same; we are no different. She expressed that we are loved and valued by the Creator. Christa then told the girls about Jesus, who came to rescue them from bondage. There was hope in the women's eyes, they had heard truth and were clinging on to it.

The opportunity was now before them, to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. That night in the city of Phnom Phen, lives were changed as many of the women gave their lives to Christ. Looking around the boat, one could see clusters of American and Cambodian women connecting. There was an overwhelming peace in the atmosphere as the women from the Red Light District began telling the ladies Go Team how much they disliked their jobs and what forced them to being an industry that is so inhumane. As the Cambodian women told their stories, all around you could see compassion filling the eyes of the women on the Go Team; their hearts were breaking for the Cambodian women. Yet, in between the tears, one could see smiles appearing on the faces of the Cambodian women as the grasped the hands of the Go Team and said "Thank you for coming, I so happy." The lives of these precious women were forever changed as they were given the courage to leave this industry.

On an ordinary Friday night, a group of 27 Americans made the descion to be obssessed with doing the will of the Father. Going into a district that is known for it's "darkness", this team of American's knew that the light that shined in them was greater. As they stepped onto the scene, light came into existence; and with it rescue, relief, and hope. Something extraordinary happened that Friday night:

For the first time in a long time, these women were treated with the respect they deserve. For the first time, a glimmer of hope had entered their world. For the first time these women had a Night of Refuge.

Cambodia Day 6

"Break my heart for what breaks Yours". At some point in time, many of us have prayed this prayer.

The Go Team is no exception to this. Throughout the trip, members of the team have been crying out to the Lord for their hearts to break for what breaks His. The day has come, when that prayer really starts to take effect. As the team traveled from Kampong Thom to Phnom Phen today, they had time to prepare their hearts; their ministry was about to have a seemingly drastic change as they moved from village ministry to ministry with women and children who have been exploited for sex.

The fact is:

The sex industry is one of the largest in the world, generating over 28 billion dollars a year. There are 27 million people in the world today that are enslaved. Broken down that means that there are more slaves today than there were in the historic transatlantic slave period.

Today, reality hit. Twenty-seven million was no longer an overwhelming statistic for the members of the Go Team. Today that number was attached to faces.

The team had several amazing opportunities today to breathe life into the women and children who have been aching inside, struggling to survive.

In the afternoon, the ladies of the Go Team went to go work with the SHE Rescue Home. It was there that reality set in as they heard the stories of these children. The youngest girl at the home was only 3 when she was first exposed to one of the most inhumane acts known to mankind. Not even able to read a Dr. Seuss book on her own, this little girl has been gang raped, drugged, and exploited for sex. For two years men took advantage of her, robbing her of her innocence and childhood. The man who is responsible for all the harm that has been done to her is her father, who raped her in order to "prepare" her before he sold her. The hearts of the ladies on the team were beginning to break. The ladies spent the rest of the afternoon with the girls, ranging in ages 5-16, bonding over making simple little bracelets and other crafts.

Meanwhile, the men of the trip were also playing a vital role in the lives of these women and children who were trafficked. If girls are honest with themselves - they'll come to acknowledge that they want to be rescued, essentially they want a hero.Today, the men of the Go team played the roles of heros as they served a rescue home doing manual labor for various projects. While to some it may seem like it was just another random work project, the men understood that this was much more. The men knew that they were setting an example to the women who were trafficked of what real men are supposed to be like. They spent the afternoon working hard, sweating a little, and serving the women. This afternoon they were the warriors, they were the heros.

As night time came, the team prepared themselves as they were about to go down to the place of action: the beer gardens. A place where women are often in forced prostitution, having no choice, and no freedom. The team's ministry was nothing extravagant, it was simple. They chatted over cokes, exchanging stories and details of their lives. As time passed by, the conversations revealed more and more. The hearts of the team were beginning to break as they heard women after women say "I hate this job, I want out!"

These women: are in need of change, are longing for freedom, and are on a quest for love.

The question is this: What does one do now- once they have heard these stories and these desires to escape the industry? One cannot help but crave to do something to change their realities, after all, isn't that what Jesus would do?

The team has invited the women from the beer gardens to a party that will be thrown in their honor. This purpose of this party is to recognize them as women who are precious and valuable in the sight of God. Though it may not be one's normal outreach- tomorrow morning lives will be changed as many of them hear the gospel message, are told they are priceless, and as they are connected with a local rescue home that can help them escape the lifestyle they are in.

Tonight, the team is going to bed with heavy hearts. Their hearts have broken for what breaks the heart of the Father. The Lord is creating a zeal in the hearts of the team to create change and be a light in this dark city.

Tomorrow: Change is coming.

The story continues tomorrow...

Special Request: The Go International team asks that you as our friends and family be in prayer the next 24 hours to our ministry with the women in sex trafficking. In addition to tomorrow morning's party, tomorrow night Go International will be throwing the second annual Night of Refuge, giving the women a night of rest and refuge from their nightly routine and customers. As a team we ask that you pray for wisdom, discernment, safety, an that the Lord would be able to move in and through us as a team, and that He prepares the hearts of the women who will be attending the party. Thank you so much to all of you back at home, we appreciate all your prayers and support.

Cambodia - Day 4 & 5

Breathe life. This ought to be something that we as Christians do on a daily basis; it ought to be a lifestyle. In fact, the Lord beckons us to be a source of life to those around us throughout scripture.

During the last several days, the Go Team has done exactly this. They have breathed life everywhere they went. Whether that be at the orphanage, villages, medical clinics, church services, or english schools. The Go team has made themselves available for the Lord to use. The team has been breathing life through not only their words, but actions, and their presence.

For the past 5 days something beautiful has been in the making; a bond between believers. It all started with one little girl who wanted a "God Sister in Christ". As team member Esther Gualtrieri unloaded from the vans the first day at the orphanage, she was quickly greeted by a little girl who latched on to her. There was a soul connection there as the young girl squeezed Esther tightly not letting go. As Sokhon, the team's contact, noticed what was unfolding he took a moment to share with the team that the young girl had approached him just days before stating that she had been praying for God for a "God Sister in Christ". God had answered her prayers; He brought her Esther, an American with a heart of passion for Jesus. The young girl looked up at Esther with admiration as Sokhon explained the young girl's desire for a God Sister. Without hesitation, Esther eagerly committed to being the young girls God Sister; committing to encourage her, pray for her, and be a spiritual example to her; essentially breathing life into her.

Day after day teenagers and young adults in the Cambodian Church approached members of the Go Team, asking if the Americans would be their God Sisters, Brothers, and Mothers. And each day with pleasure, members of the Go Team said "yes". The team was making the most of every opportunity and seizing the moment to breathe life into the Cambodians.

It has been such a beautiful thing to watch the relationships between the Cambodians and the Americans unfold. Throughout the New Testament, Christians are referred to as "brothers and sisters" and are urged to not only live lives pleasing to the Lord, but to also encourage one another in their faith. The New Testament Christians are encouraged to imitate the faith of someone they respect and of the Lord, that they may in turn become a model and an example to those around them and constantly be breathing life.

As our time in Kampong Thom comes to a close, it has been beautiful to watch members of the team step up to the plate and be spiritual leaders in our world. The team has breathed life into the people of Cambodia and is leaving a thumb print in this nation. Though our time here in the villages was short, much was accomplished. The team has gone out to the uttermost bounds of the earth preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, encouraging the believers, reaching the lost, and bringing restoration all in the name of Jesus. We can be assured that much will be accomplished in our absence, there is a generation of believers in the Church here who are seeking to create change in their world and become more like Jesus, who are ready to breathe life in their own circles of influence.

Tomorrow, the team will be traveling to the city of Phnom Phen to work with girls in the sex trade. Tomorrow is a new day with brand new possibilities. Tomorrow day will be yet another opportunity to breathe life to the people of Cambodia.

The story continues tomorrow...

Cambodia - Day 3

Over and over again we are beckoned as believers to be ambassadors of Christ. We are called to represent Christ on earth and move with purpose on His behalf. Today, the Go team truly took ownership of this title and stepped into their role as ambassadors of Christ as they ministered in the villages of Cambodia. The team started the morning off with dramas in a small concrete school. Squeezed inside the four walls, the Cambodians leaned in intensely as they watched the team perform dramas that told the message of Jesus Christ. After the dramas, the team went out into the crowd praying with individuals for healing. At this point the team had no idea the stirring that had already been going on before they had arrived. In faith, a woman who had heard about the team coming to the village, made the descion to skip work, believing that if she came to get prayer she would be healed. For years she had been suffering from a bad back causing difficulty in her daily routine. As the team dispersed throughout the crowd, a couple of the team members approached her to pray. WIth an eager and expectant heart, the woman agreed with the team for her healing. Within moments of praying, the woman started moving freely. With a smile on her face she started moving her hips and dancing; she had been healed. Her faith had made her well. For the rest of the service, the Cambodian woman danced with the team members, rejoicing for her healing.

Yet as the service drew to a close, the rejoicing did not stop. As the team moved outside to the fresh air, the woman continued to dance around, joining in a game of jump rope as she relished the healing of her body. Curiosity stirred amongst the other women as they watched the sweet lady dance around with joy. It was not long before members of the team sparked conversation with a beautiful woman who was 75 years old. She informed the team that at the age of 20 she had lost her sight due to cataract. The small group from the Go Team and the woman whose hip had been healed gathered around the blind woman and prayed for her healing. The team spoke with authority and called her healing into existence. As the team prayed, the cataract began to disappear from her eyes. By the end of their prayer, the woman's sight had been completely restored. For the first time in 55 years, the woman could see the world clearly.

These are only two of many stories from today; stories of healing, restoration, and salvation. Today, the team moved with purpose as they fulfilled the mandate of Christ; to love God and love people. The team has become ambassadors of Christ in the nation of Cambodia.

Cambodia - Day 2

There is something absolutely beautiful about music: it transcends language. This morning, the Go Team had the opportunity to attend a Cambodian church service, where they entered together in worship with a church full of Cambodian believers. There were no fancy lights, no elegant decor, just four walls and a roof and a room full of believers entering into worship. Though everything about the surroundings were simple, the presence of God was there. United together by the love for their Savior, the Cambodians and Americans danced and sang praises that filled the whole village.

As worship came to a close, Christa Baca, co-founder of Go International, took an opportunity to breathe life into the Cambodian church, challenging them to pursue the dreams that God has placed in their hearts. What the world needs to day is dreamers, not lofty dreamers, but dreamers who dream of a better world. Dreamers who do not merely dream selfish dreams, but dream for the sake of others. As Americans, most of us live in a culture where we are encouraged to pursue our dreams, however, for many Cambodians this is not the case. However, today marked a new day, full of new beginnings. Today, Cambodians both young and old alike made the decision to start living out their dreams. As the service ended, there was a freshness in the air; dreams were being awakened. It was evident that change was occurring in the hearts of the beautiful people of Cambodia.

Though the service had come to a close, the day was only just beginning. After the service, the team spent time playing with the children from the orphanage. As bubbles and balloons showered the atmosphere, the team and the children bonded. Everywhere you looked there were little Cambodian children hanging onto members of the team. The children were getting special attention as the team played games and danced in the street with them. However, it'd be safe for one to assume that more was happening than meets the eye. As conversations continue between the team members, it is evident that God has been softening the hearts of the team members for the fatherless. God is in the process of breaking the hearts of 27 individuals for what breaks His.

With several hours left before sundown, the team continued on their trek through the villages. Where they continued to spread the love of the Savior to the villagers through dramas, carnivals, and medical clinics. With each village that the team attends, there is a fresh excitement that comes to spread hope to those who have lost hope, to bring love to those who feel abandoned, and renewal to the brokenhearted.

It is truly beautiful to see the team come together as one, with pure hearts and one vision in mind. The team is creating change in their every movement and lives are being transformed.

Cambodia - Day 1

Early morning risers, the Go team woke up early and headed out to a village for their first day of ministry. Excitement filled the air as the team passed through the busy streets knowing that they were about to enter a village that may have never been visited by Christians who are spreading the love and gospel of Jesus Christ. Side conversations in the vans were filled with team members expressing how excited they were to play with the village children and minister to the people.

As the team approached the village, villagers waved by the side and followed the vans to the stopping point. There, the team unloaded and found themselves in front of a quaint Cambodian home, where waiting for them was a crowd full of men, women, and children. It wasn't long before the team pulled out face paints, watercolors, and bubbles in order to entertain the children. There was an invasion of smiles as young and old alike, were laughing and giggling alongside the Go Team. Little did the villagers know that the fun was only beginning; the Go team was about to reveal carnival they had set up. One could say that the carnival is essentially a "mobile Disneyland". Laughter filled the air as the team and the villagers were bonding over "Putt Putt" and "Pin the Tail on the Monkey".

After the carnivals, the team performed several dramas for the crowd that had gathered. While some of the dramas were humorous, others presented the gospel message in a compelling way. A stillness fell over the crowd as they watched the story of Jesus Christ unfold. Moved by these dramas, one could see it in the eyes of many of the villagers that truth was being revealed. Today, lives were changed, as several Cambodians gave their lives to Christ.

Packing up their bags, the team continued on to another village where they conducted another carnival as well as a youth service. As the vans headed back to the hotel for the night, the team chit chatted amongst themselves exchanging stories of their day and connections with different children and villagers... change has come. However, not just in the lives of the Cambodians, but in the lives of those on the team. A stirring is occurring in the hearts of 27 individuals- a stirring to see the love of Jesus be spread around the world.

Today was the beginning of something beautiful. Today, lives were changed because a few Americans decided to spend time in a nation that needed hope. Today, lives were changed because a few nurses and doctors gave medical attention to those in pain.

Tonight, our team goes to bed knowing that they are fulfilling the mandate of Christ: to go into the utter most bounds of the earth and "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28.18).

CAMBODIA - SAFE ARRIVAL

After traveling more than 24 hours the team touched down safely in the capital city Phnom Penh. This morning they will continue their journey and drive 4 hours away to the province Kampong Thom where the bulk of the ministry will take place. Spirits are high and expectation is stirring as to all that God has in store in the coming days. While in route to Cambodia they had the opportunity to visit the shopping district of Mong Kok while on an extended layover in Hong Kong. The team was excited to get one more stamp in their passports and to pick up a few souvenirs along the way.

Thank you for your continued prayers. We look forward to keeping you updated on all that is taking place on the ground in Cambodia. In addition to posts made here you can receive micro updated by following us on Twitter @go_intl or on Facebook. Feel free to share these posts to your social networks.

CAMBODIA - TRAINING

After months of anticipation, June has finally arrived. Go International and missionaries from across the country have gathered in Los Angeles, California in order to embark on an adventure half way across the world, in the nation of Cambodia. The group of 27 has one mission in mind: to bring a piece of heaven to earth, bringing the message of Jesus to the fatherless, oppressed, and hopeless. As the team met together in their California hotel, Christa Baca, co-founder of Go International, casted the vision for the trip, encouraging the team to “step onto the scene and be light in the darkness”.

It can be said that this team of people is “expectant”. As a few of the team members shared their heart and expectations of the trip, it was evident that despite the “darkness” of Cambodia, the team is expecting God to move in a beautiful and powerful way.

Jeremiah 1.5-10 says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations... " Do not say, 'I am too young.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you", declares the Lord." I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I have appointed you over the nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and plant.""

This team of 27 individuals are bonded by the fact that they are ready to see change in the lives of Cambodians. They are ready and willing to be used by God to breathe life into the nation of Cambodia, by going where He says "go" and saying what He has put on their hearts. With courage, the team is ready to go out into the front lines, and be a voice of hope to the villagers, fatherless, and oppressed, knowing that the Lord has appointed them for this moment in time. As the team gathered for morning worship, they sang “Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are Higher than any other”. The song became an anthem for the team, as they were preparing their hearts to go out into the world and be a light in this nation.

Now, with only 5 hours till take off, the team is uniting together as one as they prepare dramas that they will be performing in the villages of Cambodia. To say that the team is eager, is an understatement, they are ready and willing: to go out into far ends of the earth and be ambassadors of Christ, ready to be a part of a beautiful story of Christ bringing redemption to a nation who has lost hope.

The story continues tomorrow...

Fashion for a Cause

Have you ever realized that fashion pushes the limits? As if it has no boundaries? It’s bold and innovative-  and makes an impact everywhere you look. What if your love for fashion could create the same effect.

Tonight. 80,000 Cambodian women and girls will adorn themselves in the latest fashions. However, instead of going out for a carefree night- they will be sexually exploited and sent home with a stranger who has bought them for the night.

Now. Fashion has found it’s cause. A cause that is: bold, innovative, and even a little provocative. Fashion is impacting the realities of victims of sex trafficking.

You can create change in the lives of these Cambodian women. Through the purchase of a Go Accessory you can be a part of a bold and innovative movement to help women escape the sex industry.

100% of proceeds from Fashion for a Cause go to stopping the sexual exploitation of women.
